Coastal Dance Festival 2021

The 2021 Coastal Dance Festival (CDF) is produced by the Dancers of Damelahamid in partnership with the Anvil Center and the Museum of Anthropology at UBC.

A celebration of the songs and dances of the Indigenous peoples of the Northwest Coast of North America. The theme of the 2021 CDF is resiliency as we find new ways to practice.

This year’s festival artists are:
Chinook Song Catchers, Dakhká Khwáan, Dancers of Damelahamid, Git Hayetsk, Git Hoan, Spakwus Slolem, Yisya’winuxw, and youth artists Casey James and Demetrius Paul as well as Matoska and Nahpeyo Baker-Peters.

This year's newly envisioned festival will be a virtual presentation of Indigenous song, dance, stories, and language which will be posted online from March 12 - 18. The presentations will be free, donations are welcome.
